Mission Points

One of the integral parts of the ministry at Northwest is the 3 main mission focus points we financially and relationally support.  We take up a special offering each Fall to financially support these efforts.

  • Israel molina

    Apaxco, Mexico

The mission in Apaxco, Mexico began at the end of 2016 when Israel, his wife Nelly, and his family were living in Mexico City, where for more than 17 years they had been working as missionaries establishing Churches of Christ. Their purpose in leaving the city was to start a new work in the place where Nelly's family lived, with the intention of forming a community that lives the teachings of Jesus in its simplest form, thus extending the Kingdom of God.

    Central phoenix Urban ministry

In 2011, upon returning from full-time missionary work in Mexico City, Sean & Jeni McClue coordinated the effort to establish Central Phoenix Urban Ministry (CPUM) as a local mission of churches of Christ. Through prayer, service, and partnerships, CPUM has developed a missional community within the Garfield and Edison Park Historic Neighborhoods of Downtown Phoenix. Focus areas of ministry have included ESL programs for immigrants and refugees, kids’ club in the park, neighborhood youth mentoring, youth summer camps and retreats, service projects with visiting groups, campus ministry to the ASU Downtown Campus, and outreach to those experiencing homelessness. Since 2016, CPUM has used The Greenhouse (located near Verde Park in the Garfield Neighborhood) as the homebase for ministry and as a gathering place for the local church. Volunteer service opportunities are available for groups and individuals on a seasonal basis throughout the year.  We constantly ask God to transform us as we cross boundaries, intentionally serve our neighbors, courageously make disciples of Jesus, and build for the kingdom in simple ways every day.

Key Verse: Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
